Candy Gram - Obama not optimal on Benghazi

Why I cannot vote for President Obama; reason 1

The Constitution outlines and demands for "the common defense" of the citizen, of the country.  When the President of the United States does not provide this and then goes on to lie about it; I cannot vote for or believe anything else he says.

Candy Crowley came to his defense in the latest debate.  She was wrong and later provided further comment admitting so, but like the media, 80% of them at least, she had to note and hedge against open admission of the President Obama lie.

From the Rose Garden, September 12th, the day after the event in Benghazi, President Obama:

“No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.”

“I strongly condemn the outrageous attack on our diplomatic facility in Benghazi, which took the lives of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. Right now, the American people have the families of those we lost in our thoughts and prayers. They exemplified America's commitment to
freedom, justice, and partnership with nations and people around the globe, and stand in stark contrast to those who callously took their lives,”

Sir, where have you called the attack on the Consulate at Benghazi a terrorist attack?  What you said could have been said on any day in our history.  Now, I could be lead to believe, to give the benefit of the doubt, by the media and your campaign staff that you intended this as a mention of terror, that you were declaring this an act of terror specifically IF......anytime in the following ten days you or any of your spokespersons would have said it.  They did not.  Jay Carney, Secretary of State Clinton and your Sunday spokesperson (5 different talk shows) Susan Rice. They all kept blaming the video, no one called it an act of terror, no one.  One day, two days delay I could understand.  But on September 16th, Susan Rice made sure that those who would listen to the spin, would understand this that this was a reaction to a video and a spontaneous reaction at that.  Further, why during your UN speech did you continue to mention the video?  Why do you continue to apologize to terrorists?  That is not optimal for the "common defense" of America and her citizens abroad and domestic.

Again, I could let it pass if you, your people and staff would have come to their senses and told the truth.  I understand the confusion, the reports, the many changing time lines that occur in the moments after an attack, even days after, but there was no reaction or retraction to any of them, none.  That would turn this into a lie; a false statement when known truth existed.

It is odd, so close to the election that this has happened, it is certainly not optimal, if you will.  If your campaign was not trying to sell your expertise on foreign policy by defining you as bin Laden's killer as well as being the President to put al-Qaeda on the run; this would not fit the profile.  Again, I have to admit, I could be lead to believe, through faith that the President would never put citizens in danger on purpose, I still wavered until the final straw.

The security force assigned to the Consulate, to Ambassador Stevens, was removed in August even as the Consulate was requesting, not additional security, but to keep the security they had; they were denied.  Their security detail was sent home.  How could anyone do this with a sound mind and judgement for the citizens of the United States both foreign and domestic.  We have a security detail in France, Benghazi is safer and more sound than France?

And it is not as if the State Department did not have any idea the the threat was there (sorry Mr. Biden they may not tell you everything but they knew); they were being told by Stevens himself.
Months before the attacks he was writing about the dangers.

"What we have seen are not random crimes of opportunity, but rather targeted and discriminate attacks."
---Ambassador Stevens

There were also two attacks on the Consulate itself before the final attack: on different days, walls of the consulate were attacked with a bomb and an IED.  No harm came on either date but how could the State Department be so blind?  How could the President be so ignorant to the violence in the world?

We must project strength.  We must be strong and determined in the world.  Regardless if we install puppet dictators or stand back and let the Spring fever take the people to Democracy; we cannot be seen as weak.  We also cannot be seen as apologizing when none is warranted.

We need a stronger Commander in Chief, not a President whom in the face of a terrorist attack goes to Vegas for a campaign stop.  Sometimes you simply have to take the job as it comes and be responsible regardless of how badly you want to be some where else.  This was your 3:00 AM phone call and you went gambling, in more ways than one.
